Collectible Ornaments

People around the world find many reasons to purchase collectible ornaments. An angel collector who finds a two inch tall angel ornament with gold trim and wings might need it to complete a set, to replace a broken antique, or just because it caught their eye. What one person likes is as unique as the person.

Ornaments come in too many varieties to list with materials like glass, plastic, polymer clay, wooden, and collectible brass Christmas ornaments.

Bradford Exchange, the Hamilton Collection and Hallmark all produce popular collectible Christmas ornaments. Many of these ornaments come in limited numbers prized by collectors. All of these companies offer a catalog of collectible Christmas ornament to download, or scan through online.

Disney collectors find plenty of collectible ornaments with their favorite characters like Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck and more. As one of the biggest toy manufacturers in the world, Disney teams up with Hallmark year after year to bring Christmas collectible ornaments to customers world wide.

In 2006, Hallmark sold Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean collectible ornaments with Captain Jack Sparrow. Just like in the first movie, Caption Jack kneels behind bars and tries to coax the keys from a misfit dog's mouth. This hard to find ornament featured a button on the back that when pushed played "A Pirate's Life for Me".

In 2001, Hallmark offered a collectible Santa ornament featuring Mickey Mouse ringing a bell in each hand. This is not the first, or the last time Mickey found himself donned in Santa garb and made into a Christmas ornament, as collectible Mickey Mouse ornaments appear every year.

Another popular ornament collection comes from toy maker, Hasbro. In 2003, My Little Pony made a huge come back bringing with it Christmas ornaments of new ponies, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Sparkleworks, and Sunny Daze. Other pony ornaments included Kimono, Minty, Twinkle Twirl, Blossomforth and Triple Treat. A new My Little Pony Christmas ornament pack includes the first generation three Pegasus pony, Star Catcher, and the first unicorn, Rarity.

Kids love to collect ornaments with characters from Shrek, a movie created from DreamWorks Animation. One set of Shrek ornaments put the head of Donkey with a red Christmas bow on a large bell and Shrek in a Santa hat holding a present on another bell.

The Bradford Exchange offers ornaments meant to hang year round, such as the "Dragons of the Crystals Cave" ornaments. Each resin dragon holds a crystal and gives the appearance of glass.

These are only tiny list of Christmas collectible ornaments available today.
